Warm and homely B&B in the heart of Fort Augustus.

We have three double ensuite rooms and one twin room with private facilities which offer superb views of the Caledonian Canal, Loch Ness and the surrounding hills. All our rooms are well equipped with Freeview TVs, tea and coffee making facilities, complimentary toiletries, hairdryer, boot tray, playing cards and torch as well as an informative guest information folder and a little book of Nessie.

We offer a wide choice of Scottish breakfasts including a continental platter, full Scottish or our ever-popular Scottish smoked salmon with scrambled eggs.

Being located mid-way along the 73-mile-long Great Glen Way running from Fort William to the Highland capital of Inverness makes Lorien House B&B the perfect base for exploring the Scottish Highlands, famous for both stunning scenery and rich history. You never know, you might even catch a glimpse of Nessie during your stay!

Bikers, cyclists, canoers and walkers are welcome. Lockable cycle/equipment storage is available, please enquire. Please visit our website for room rates.

I could not fault this accommodation, if I could, I would. Location is superb right by the town but not disturbed by... traffic. Room was exceptionally clean, breakfast choice more than ample and great quality. Owners were very polite and informative. Highly recommended.read more

Would have loved to come back!We were given a warm welcome by Lin and Tom, and enjoyed nice, clean rooms, a cozy... living room, great view from our room, and a fantastic breakfast. Lovely B and B in excellent location with superb breakfast but what makes it special are the wonderful hosts Lin and... Tom who really do make you feel at home (Without any of the chores). Lin & Tom immediately made us feel at home, they are so helpful and friendly and made our stay a wonderful experience.... The bedrooms are comfortable with lots of added extras like ear plugs, bottled water, etc. They went the ‘extra mile’ with birthday cake and banners, making my birthday a little more special - and we’d only just met them. Great stay at Lorien house. Tom and Lin were very welcoming and friendly. Room was lovely and comfortable with a nice... ensuite bathroom. Very nice cooked breakfast in the morning with help yourself fruit and cereal. Couldn't fault the service, accommodation or location. Right next to a series of locks leading into loch Ness. Recommend The Lock Inn for a drink and food.Highly recommended accommodation, you will not be disappointed. Highest rating in the area for a reason.read more

Absolutely faultless. Tom and Lin are natural hosts, and the B&B is extremely well appointed. Playing cards, books, a... great tea tray, flashlight, earplugs, etc. in the bedside table in a lovely, clean space. Unfortunately, we didn’t get the chance to have breakfast due to an early departure, but Lin packed us a lunch to go instead. We hope we get the chance to come back, and couldn’t be happier with our stay.read more

Tom and Lin are lovely people who own run this Guest House perfectly situated in central Fort Augustus where you can... walk to everything. Both were quick to offer helpful suggestions about what to see, where to eat, and helped with some tips about further travels in Scotland. Professional and warm hosts. The rooms are very clean and cozy and breakfast was excellent. We chose to sleep with the window open and the street noise began early. We could also hear guests in other rooms but earplugs fixed that. Would highly recommend a stay here. We thought there was a lot of value in what we received.read more
