After the gastronomic dessert that is the drive along Loch Ness, turning north into the forests reveal, in a short... while, this oasis of good food, friendly service and charming gifts. You can add to this a wide choice of hand turned wooden pens, both rollerball and fountain. These are made, by one of the owners, from a variety of local and international timbers. I am particularly fond of my whisky barrel timber pen and continually have to stop myself from chewing it (just to see if it tastes authentic!!!read more
We had a superb full Scottish breakfast here this morning after a long drive from Skye. It is a couple of miles north... of Invermoriston and on a fast stretch of road but slow down and have break here. The food was plentiful and superbly cooked by an excellent trained chef who cooked everything to perfection with quality local Scottish ingredients and served by a friendly waitress. Good value as well.read more
We fell over this great place on a trip to Skye. Could have stopped for a full sit down breakfast (great menu) but went... for two hot breakfast sandwiches.
Cooked there and then while we waited.
Service was just as good! Cannot fault the experience at all.😀read more
This review is long overdue, and apologize to the owners for the delay.
We visited in May 2019 on our way from Skye to... Inverness... we were looking for a place to lunch and happened upon this gem.
We had a mushroom soup that was to die for... i can only hope it was a Svampsoppa so I can try and make a faint copy of what we enjoyed that day... the owner also reminded my that Edinburgh is pronounced Edin-bro.
The owners are lovely, they even smoke the cheese and salmon on site. I had a smoked cheese and cider apple chutney... which was fantastic and my husband had a salmon and cream cheese sandwich all on malted bread. I would highly recommend stopping here for breakfast or lunch. All homemade soups and Currys. They even paint lovely pictures and turn wood in to lovely bowls. So many hidden talents 😅 I would highly recommend popping in 👌🏻🏴🏴🏴read more

This was a wonderful discovery off the net. Small place with both indoor and outdoor seating. The food was superb! The... couple take great pride and put in so much effort in the preparation and presentation of the food.
A lot of the stuff that they use is grown in their own vegetable patch. Delicious and fresh.
We had limited stuff but the best of the lot was their chicken salad that was a visual delight and gourmet stuff. The roasted salmon soup was excellent. We thought the venison burger was OK but maybe we are not experts on that. The mushroom soup was also very good.
I strongly recommend this place. You must stop here for a lovely lunch.read more

We stopped off here after a forest walk, & had a great lunch. One of the best bowls of Cullen Skink soup I've had.
The... cafe had just been really busy but the owners still took time to chat & share advice about the local area, & generously recommended another restaurant for an evening meal.
We also had the pleasure of meeting their beautiful dog.
