Order the Donner!!! It was AMAZING - the portions are gigantic, but that's besides the point. The flavor is... incredible, we seek out donner places wherever we travel and this is the best hands down. The garlic sauce is incredible as well. The chili sauce is spicy, but it's automatically served on the side. They have dine-in and take away.read more

Popped in here for a bite to eat after a day out. The food is good, nothing special but good enough for a light bite.... We had jacket potatoes which apparently are only on the lunch menu but the man said he'd do them anyway. All of the staff were polite and friendly. They smiled and talked to my 6 month old and even took him for a walk around the kitchen. All around a nice experience. Thank youread more

Haggis is something I could get used to having, although the sweet potato was watery tasting. The breaded mushrooms... were nice and crunchy with juice on the inside and the seafood pizza was steaming delicious. Only the fries disappointed, arriving all soft and mushy like they had forgotten to fry them.read more

Good food, but even better staff. We ate here last week, didn't order much as we weren't very hungry. My husband really... enjoyed his pizza though. The staff were so lovely and attentive. The chef came out to have a wee chat with us and the baby and gave her a bottle of juice and chatted to us a wee bit about his girls. The waiter was so friendly too. Would definitely recommend. Visited a few days ago. Since we have a dog we were only allowed outside. The seating area was absolutely filthy. Food... on tables, everything sticky and scruffy. Food wasn't too bad, but nothing special. Nice coffe though. Overall experience wasn't great. In a spot like this, they could really thrive if they have made a bigger effortread more

We went for coffee and ordered three coffees for take away. When we asked for the amount to pay, the person said £55!... Asked again and he said £55! Gave him a long stare, and then he acted cheeky and said oh, it's £5.5. Asked him again, 3 coffees for £5.5? And then he finally said no, it's £8.3. Considering its a touristy location, they are trying their luck to mug people by overcharging, not realising that UK residents can visit them too. Such a shame as the coffee was actually quite good. Wish they were decent enough to not treat people like this. Also, one of the rare places in the Highlands that didn't allow dogs, though, not rating them on it as it is a personal preference but it's quite rare to see that there.read more

We were canoeing the great glen for the Anam Cara Fasgadh charity and stopped in fort Augustus after some tough weather... and had our evening meal here, the staff were very accommodating to the size of our group, they were very friendly and welcoming, and the the server Adam was incredibly nice and very funny and it was a very welcome reintroduction into society after two days wild camping. The food and drinks were delicious and we would all definitely go back.read more

Biggest tourist trap ever. They are serving frozen food. This was the most disgusting salmon and "vegetables I've had... in my life. I heard a couple complain because they were sold a canned drink that was 1 year out of date. Staff are also quite rude and come across as arrogant.Update: I threw up twice later in the day after eating this food. Please be careful.read more

We popped in here to get a drink and look at the menus. As my partner walked in and said can we get a drink the waiter... told her that he’d seen us and knew we’d only be able to afford a drink. Needless to say we didn’t stay for food. There are much nicer places around.read more

Tourist Trap Alert. Shocking food quality and rude and threatening customer serviceWish I can give 0 star. DO NOT GO... to this restaurant. Our food was late and on asking about it nicely for first time, we were given extremely rude response. We let it go thinking it could be owner's misunderstanding.Then we asked for ketchup with fries and were threatened !!! This came out of nowhere and we just left the place after paying our bill. We were a family with young kids.Wish I can report owner/waiter to police for verbal abuse and threat but did not wanted to ruin our holiday.I request to avoid this place.read more

Spent three days in the Fort Augustus area and this was the best meal we had. Skip the generic fish-and-chips choices... and partake of the delightful tzazikti, hummus, falafel, and kebabs. Absolutely delicious.read more

I came here with my partner for an evening meal. The seafood pasta was delicious; the staff were incredibly... accommodating, friendly and attentive; and when we requested that our desserts be packaged for a takeaway, they were only too happy to oblige. We had a disappointing onion ring starter.My son had a very thick and doughy pizza. My husband and I had the mixed... kebab for 2 for £22 which was on the specials board with a bit rubbed out at the bottom, it was average. On paying we found out that the £22 was per person. Quite simply do not go here.read more

We all had pizza’s and they were lovely. Was sceptical after reading the other reviews however we all enjoyed the... pizzas. Can’t speak for the other food as we didn’t have it. Quite expensive, £14 for a 12” pizza but was worth it. Thoroughly enjoyed our take-away!read more

Worst feed I think I have ever bought. Half chicken and chips. The chicken was the worst. So dry and tasted like it had... been frozen and microwaved. Should be ashamed to serve that. Won't be going back.read more

Good food, service was reasonable - except for the guy who kept asking if we wanted a baked potato with almost... everythign we ordered.Covid rules were a bit too relaxed. Notices on the widows stating that masks must be worn in all areas, including toilets. However, the frst member of staff we encountered was not wearing a mask - he did wear one later so no reason to think he had any medical exemption.There was no encouragement to sign the contact register - simply a sheet of paper and pen at one of the doors. You could come in from another doorway where there was no register.No one way system, which would be very easy to implement.Tables were way too close had the place been busy - it wasnt during our visit, so no issues, but if it had been then social distancing would not be in place - not that we would have stayed had that been the case.read more

We were stopping off in Fort Augustine for a quick bit of sightseeing and a bite to eat. We had hungry kids and looking... for a place which catered for Vegetarians. We were pointed in the direction of The Moorings which we may not have, otherwise, noticed.The owner was lovely and very helpful, whilst we only had a jacket potato and Mediterranean pasta the food was very tasty and portion sizes were very good.I have no complaint but only compliment.read more

On a very wet and windy evening on our way back to our holiday cottage we were looking for somewhere to eat! We... contacted ‘The Moorings’ on route and explained we were a party of 8 adults and 2 teenagers and could they accommodate! On arrival we were welcomed and given complimentary olives, dips and bread while we waited for our food. The service was above and beyond, the food consisted of good sized portions and amazing. Great location. Just next to the canal where you can take the ferry for a ride in Loch ness. Good vegetarian options... unlike other restaurants in the area. Delicious pizza, sandwiches and onion rings. Plus the service is quick. The owners seemed to enjoy their job at the restaurant. The music they played complimented with the location. Great food. Not sure why the other two posted severely bad reviews. The tour bus arrived on Wednesday and we all went... out to get dinner. Every single restaurant was full except for this one, I assume because of the bad reviews two people posted. Had spaghetti bolognese, pasta with seafood, moussaka, and chicken in mushroom pie. All were tasty. It is now 2 days past and all of us are well. Services fine though waiters don't speak very good English.read more

Most disgusting food we've eaten in Scotland. Had a chicken and mushroom pie and chips. Mostly made from tinned soup.... The chips were fried at least twice and put in a microwave. Partner had steak pie. Can't find the words to explain how bad it was. Avoid this dreadful place and get a sandwich or something else elsewhere. Not even worth one star. Tourist trap. Left the meal hardly eaten.read more

We stayed one night here while on a highland tour. The Loch Ness guest house was very welcoming when we arrived. The... room was wonderful, bright and airy, and made a great use of the space. Our room had an attached bathroom that was compact, but very easy to use. Everything was clean and in good condition with wonderful extra touches (providing local handmade soup and a little stuffed highland cow to great us in the room). The bed was definitely firm but I had no trouble sleeping on it. The location is perfect walking distance from local restaurants, bars, and shops.read more

I live near this place and nobody I know will go there because it is so very bad. A pig sty is cleaner than this cafe.... The person who said they own it has also left good review for this awful place, proving they are not honest. The locals do not eat here, most of us have been ill from eating at this filthy place. Terrible. Waited half an hour for three sandwiches and the most flavourless bowl of lentil soup I've ever had. Even... with a liberal amount of salt and pepper I could only stomach half of the orange water. Even the bread roll was burnt on one side! Wait staff are clueless.
